Danae Fasano Dehne
Ceramic Artist
Danae Fasano Dehne is a ceramic artist and educator, creating in clay since 1993. Her work is rooted in themes of heritage, nature, rituals, and relationships, with a philosophy centered on enhancing the spirit, beauty, and domestic function of the home and garden. Through rich earth-toned organic garden sculptures, unique home décor and utilitarian ware, she inspires to evoke mindfulness, balance, and connection to the heart of the home and relationships—celebrating family feasts at the table, the tranquility of a cup of tea, garden strolls, conversation, and nostalgia. Her work embraces texture, markings, movement, mood, warmth, interaction, and strength. Objects hold stories, and in her practice, she strives to create pieces that become cherished parts of personal histories and invite people to slow down and reflect in their environment.
Her career spans decades, beginning with a sculpture class at Skidmore College, and including being a host studio in The San Diego Pottery Tour (2011–2022) and exhibiting at the Escondido Arts Partnership Municipal Gallery. She was a featured artist in the San Diego Mingei International Museum Store’s Collector’s Gallery and a juried artist at the San Diego Spanish Village Art Center and at The San Diego Botanic Garden Sculpture in the Park Exhibit. Her work is held in private collections internationally.
A native New Englander, Danae lived 35 years in San Diego, CA, raising her children and remodeling a historical craftsman home and garden, which was an inspirational force in her craft. Currently, she continues her artistic journey as part of the Adirondack Art Association in Essex, NY (2023–present) and in her home studio in Willsboro, NY, continuing the remodeling passion in a historical farmhouse and garden.
Danae is a member of the International Ceramics Artist Network and the American Craft Council.
