Our Mission

The Adirondack Art Association (AAA) is a 501c3 not-for-profit community organization located in Essex, New York. Originally started in 1963, the AAA formally received its New York State Certificate of Incorporation as a New York not-for-profit educational and cultural corporation in 1978. The purposes for which the corporation are formed are to promote and encourage good fellowship and social activities among artists and other persons engaged in art in Essex, Clinton, Hamilton, and Warren Counties; to increase cooperation among artists, art students, and all others engaged in artistic activities; and to hold exhibitions and art shows. The AAA upholds this mission by featuring rotating fine art exhibitions, musical events, adult and children’s art classes, and live artist demonstrations.

Art is an effort to create, beside the real world, a more humane world.
— Andre Maurois, French Author
